The One With All The Tree Chopping

This is where we are going to build our dream home...a barndominium big enough for all three boys and one small business! Well, not there exactly...a little higher up on the hill...but you get the general idea. 

We spent the long weekend clearing out a space for our near 400 foot driveway through the "forest" as the boys call it. Between burning brush, dragging limbs, chopping down trees, and picking up sticks...it was a very productive weekend. It will take several more long days before all of the trees are down and we are ready for the dirt work to begin.

*Fun fact: Peep those car seats towards the middle right of the picture? That was our original campsite growing up. It sits right on the edge of a small creek. Someday soon, my boys will play in the same creek. Hopefully they will get to experience hunting for crawdads and mushrooms with their daddy like I did with mine all those years ago.

The Inspiration

I spend way too much time on Pinterest looking up ideas for my classroom, Mullis Made ideas, house ideas, etc. While trying to decide what kind of house we wanted to build, I came across this picture and fell in love.

​Cody designed our barndominium to look similar to this...the roof pitch is slightly different...we want bigger windows...but the same white farmhouse vibe. I am anxious to see how it all comes together!
