How It All Started...
Once upon a time there was a teacher who was searching for ways to supplement her teaching salary in order to provide for her growing family of boys. Armed with a passion for all things handmade and a very supportive husband, she designed and screened shirts for other teachers in Indiana who were tired of being overlooked by state funding. The design quickly spiraled into more than just a shirt...it was a message of hope for public education. A gentle reminder that while teachers are in it for the kids, they also have their own families to support....and our kids deserve better!
While things are still looking grim for present day educators, our voices will be heard in a big way!

Wife. Mother.I am the wife of an unbelievably supportive husband. Between evenings in the classroom, committee meetings that seem to last forever, and crafting at all hours of the night-- this guy knows how to keep me level headed and always laughing.
I am the mother of three crazy adorable boys. Wait. Crazy and adorable. Ha. They are my whole world and the reason I have to continue to fight for education. I strive to give my students the best version of myself each day because I want my sons to be taught with the same conviction. (And if you know any of their teachers, you know they are!) |
Teacher.I am a teacher. Each year I welcome twenty something students into my classroom and into my heart. I have days where I amaze myself at how 'on top of it' I am, and nights I realize I taught all day with spit up on my shirt. (You'd think first graders would notice that and be ridiculously honest about it...but nah.) As long as my students know they are loved, I can chalk it up as a successful year. (Those hugs each morning tell me I am right where I am supposed to be.)
